Experienced Compliance Leader Michael Yasofsky Joins Hemenway Trust Company
Hemenway Trust Company is pleased to announce that Michael E. Yasofsky, Jr. has joined the firm as Compliance Director. In this role, Michael oversees the company’s compliance and risk operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and supporting the firm’s commitment to sound governance and risk management. He has also been appointed Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer and serves as Deputy General Counsel.
A seasoned compliance leader, Michael brings extensive experience in regulatory compliance and legal investigations across the corporate, government, and financial technology sectors. His expertise includes BSA, AML, SAR, and OFAC operations, as well as audits and compliance program management, with a strong focus on mitigating financial crime risk. Throughout his career, Michael has built and enhanced robust compliance programs, led large-scale operations, conducted BSA audits, and managed complex investigations, consistently strengthening compliance frameworks, improving operational efficiency, and cultivating strong regulatory relationships.
Michael is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). He earned his JD from Duquesne University School of Law and his BA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
